At times, you might need to talk to someone to get specific advice or help. Talking to someone can help you to resolve any queries or concerns you might have. Click on any of the below to get the support you need during your time at University of Galway.

  • Counselling - Provide a free hybrid service of in-person, one-to-one counselling, and online counselling. They also provide group counselling and workshops.
  • Student Advisors - Available to meet in person and online to discuss personal, academic, financial or any other issues that may arise for you, while in University. 
  • Success Coaches - Here to support you to ‘Design your Life’, in order to achieve your unique academic, personal and life goals during ​your time in University. 
  • Financial SupportTo get advice on financial supports and help with submitting forms you can contact the financial support team directly. 
  • Chaplaincy - For students of all faiths and no faith, the Chaplaincy team offer a wide range of services including on-to-one support.
  • International Support - Find contact details for the International Affairs Office who are here to offer support and advice for international students. 
  • Traveller Education Officer - Ann-Marie Stokes offers support and guidance to Irish Traveller students as they progress into higher education and throughout their time at university
  • Mature Student Officer -  Kathleen Hartigan is available to meet with mature students to provide support and guidance on a range of issues.
  • Disability Advisor- To contact a disability advisor you must first register with Disability Support Service (DSS), follow this link to learn more about registering with DSS. 
  • Educational Support Worker for Care Experienced Students: Betty Attwood can provide support, advocacy, and advice to University of Galway students who have lived in the care of the state for any period of time before the age of 18 years old. This can include kinship care, foster care, residential care, special care and/or anyone who has been adopted.
